Petworth moochin’
avatar

Daddy wanted gun shop, girls wanted moochin’ so on the run back home we stopped and took lunch in a wonderful little cafe in Petworth where Bea made lots of friends including a lady who sat quietly at the back and when she left she came and complimented Bea on her gorgeous looks and brilliant manners.
Once we had put some pound coins in the tips jar we were set to wander the shops.
Outside a little florist we have used before we found a little metal chair. Bea found it a little too metaly so borrowed Mummy’s bottom for a cushion!
Here we see the gorgeous girls intertwined with legs, bags and of course bunny:

I love you Daddy

Bea came and sat on me whilst on the sofa. Once she had managed to get one leg each side and onto my chest she leant forward as if to speak and kissed me.
She then lent back. Looked me square in the eye and said, “Uv you Daddy”.

These actions disable a man.

Beach and Bangs…?

After Horsham Italia and Bea’s 1st ever face paint we went off to the seaside for lunch on the beach and a stroll followed by an ice cream.

We can see Bea still proudly showing off her butterfly visage to the world whilst eating our lovely picnic:

We then went for a little stroll along the beach and we see the boys helping Bea when the interesting stones made her stand on one spot playing with them!

Once walking was done it was time to park up on a wind swept bench and take in an ice cream.
Here we see Bea enjoying her ice cream by planting her face, sunglasses and bodywarmer into the ice cream:

Once all the ice cream was done we all sat and let the wind push through us:

Then on the way back home we stopped in a gun shop and found the perfect tool for Bea to start her shooting career with:

All in all a rather diverse action packed day with lots of lovely chillin.

Apparently we had to crouch down and whisper to the Lambs

A bit of cuddling in the woods with Daddy

Bea biscuit baking!
avatar

Bea loves a bit of kitchen action. After Mummy made an emergency dash to the village shop for some butter we cracked on and made a mess… Sorry… Biscuits!!!

Whilst rummaging for something to add to the mix we discovered some red food colouring, which clearly needed to be added at some point, so we split the dough in half and mixed in some little Twix balls (never seen these before – Mummy found them!) And dropped a few splashes of red colour into one ball.

Rather than roll them out neatly we took to making little balls and whacking them down into biscuit type ish shapes!

Then, given we had a bucket load of the Twix balls left, we poked a few into the top of each biscuit. Daddy had to operate on a couple of the resulting biscuits as an over eager Bea had pushed the chocolate balls through to the sheet underneath.

Anyway, after a nice bake in a medium oven with lots of checking by Bea throughout, we put them on a rack to cool.

After completing some other chores we rewarded ourselves with one of the red ones that had gone brown by the time it had finished baking.

Apparently they are yummy.
We MIGHT get another one after tea.

Vicky’s Birthday Day in Brighton.
avatar

So Vic’s Birthday was in erm December….yes it’s taken this long!!!! Between Vic’s rowing schedule and our jam packed weekends we couldn’t get a weekend day together SO we ended up making Friday our Brighton Girls Day Out….plus Bea (not in the original plan). But of course our girl LOVED every minute of the girls day out and in all honestly I don’t think Vic would have wanted it any other way.

First adventure on a Bus!!! We often collect Ollie from the Bus after school so Bea is very familiar with them but never travelled on one. She was VERY excited by the prospect. So we did Park and Ride today!

Enjoying….with a caution:)

We hit the shops in the centre which Bea loved (she does love a shop) and then wandered down to Hove for lunch in the lovely “i gigi”….and again she does LOVE a lunch out!

And what lunch is complete without a little hot chocolate to start!

20140411-203533.jpg

Mummy and Bea (and Mummy and Vicky’s stunning PLATTER of food!)

20140411-203705.jpg

And then of course it was time for CAKE!!! The array of cake in this place is overwhelming, us gals deliberated for sometime which was perhaps a delay tactic due to our very full post lunch tummies!

Mummy and Vic could not decide so shared a Lemon & Poppy Seed and an Orange & Thyme (amazing!!) and Bea…..”Chococake” (it was in fact chocolate and mascarpone).

Chocolate “cheese” (quite literally!)

Finished!!!!!!!!

20140411-204312.jpg

Our lovely day was finished by a stroll back along the sea front. Bea opted for a lift from her “friend Vicky” 🙂

Homeward bound. Tired but still loving the bus trip!

Morning photos
avatar

Daddy used to take photos of Bea on his knees when she was tiny simply because she fitted there nicely.

This morning she sat there quietly after reading her a “morning story” and I asked her if could take her photo.

How she’s grown!

It’s that time: Easter hols!

A bit of back tracking. Last Friday Bea and Ollie were on an ice-cream promise for the the end of term and of course some Park action! And then Charlie hot footed (well peddled) it over after school to join us! How everyone’s demeanour changes once school is finished for a fortnight…..even Mummy’s! And Bea just lapping up everyone’s good mood!

20140409-210244.jpg

Since, we’ve had lots of fun over the weekend: Bea went swimming with Daddy and Ollie, a fab afternoon with The Stranges on Sunday (Bea thinks Livy is her sister!), a very chilled day at Grammie’s with the boys. Her best day yet at Nursery School (she played with a new friend, painted, played with blue play dough, sang and had double helpings of lunch and didn’t insist we “go home NOW Mummy” when I collected her). We had a fab afternoon at the Park….who’d have thought you could kill an hour in a small Village Park you go to several times a week!?

Today Ollie was at a Sports Day all day, Charlie was flying so Mummy and Bea (after much deliberation by Mummy) decided spending money was not necessary and we decided to go on our first picnic of the year!!

Ready for action Mummy!!

20140409-211005.jpg

My 35minute walk took us 2hrs today with a picnic and Bea on foot!

20140409-211217.jpg

Insistent she carried the picnic blanket…..

20140409-211332.jpg

…..and then had a lift!

20140409-211439.jpg

Loving the flowers and the bird noises: “What’s that one Mummy!?”

20140409-211551.jpg

Lunchtime!! Absolutely beautiful spot (even if I do say to myself). We had a gorgeous picnic!!

20140409-211716.jpg

20140409-211740.jpg

20140409-211805.jpg

A little swinging action always necessary!

20140409-212104.jpg

And Mummy had heard a rumour the Easter Bunny often frequented the next field….

20140409-211916.jpg

FOUND IT!!!

Homeward bound!

A truly lovely way to spend a beautiful day.
