Birthday Curry!
avatar

We’ve been hankering after family time recently now that boys are back at school etc. and we normally celebrate Birthday’s with some form of nosh so we decided on lunch so that we could include her lady ship! Ollie loves a curry as do we all so it felt like the obvious choice. Curry for lunch!? Less strange than we thought and could barely walk out the door afterwards we ate so much!!!

It was Bea’s first curry out and she loved it!!!

IMG_0373.JPG

Insisted on singing Happy Birthday as it was “Ollie’s Birthday Party!”

IMG_0378.JPG

LOVED the Popadoms, and of course the (BREAD!) nann, ate spoonfuls of pilau rice and couldn’t get enough of the chicken tikka….!!!

Daddy giving her some curry advice

IMG_0376.JPG

Waiting for her ice cream which in typical curry house style came in the form of a Penguin!?!?!? His name was Punky and he’s made a brilliant bath toy!!

…..trying to access the ice cream!!!!

Saturday fun!

Not much to write just some fun snaps. We needed bread flour so we combined it with a bit of Park-ness!!

She was so pleased with herself that she did this!

IMG_0360.JPG

“I’m doing the GIANT steps!!”

IMG_0361.JPG

Big girl swinging, she got stroppy because I wasn’t pushing her high enough!?

IMG_0362.JPG

IMG_0363.JPG

IMG_0364.JPG

We took her bike with us which she’s dangerously fast on these days but she decked going down the hill! I explained why and told her this bike didn’t have brakes so needed to use her feet to slow herself down which she did very well. She went onto tell me “Charlie’s bikes got brakes, because he goes SO fast!! I need to have brakes now!”

IMG_0366.JPG

…..and with the flour they’re making focaccia! Taking (on and off) instruction from Ollie!

Lovely Friday!
avatar

Ah Friday!! So we started with the school run, back for jobs etc. and then onto Music. Again – loved it!! She’s brilliant to watch, I continually think about our first ever session, she was about 10 months old and barely walking and (although loved it) didn’t leave my side and NOW she boogies away, sings all the songs and gives Debbie her undivided attention. VERY blurred but here are the “two Bea’s” on Debbie’s lap for Old McDonald.

IMG_0356.JPG

Home for lunch with Daddy and then off to the library to update our bedtime storybook reading. She LOVES the squishy seats and “working on the computer like Daddy!”. We chose, read, eliminated and borrowed the best!

Always time for a little coffee and shortbread break in the sunshine!

IMG_0358.JPG

We scuttled around town running errands and then (if only I’d recorded it!!) she spotted her BOYS and ran like the wind into their arms. It really was one of those “Ahhhhh!” moments and as I beamed I realised everyone around them also beamed, it was ridiculously cute!!! And so they were….

IMG_0357.JPG

We abandoned Charlie to attend one of his many meetings and headed home for the usuals. Tea was ready but…. “Mummy I just helping Ollie with this game, just two minutes!” That told me!!

IMG_0359.JPG

Another lovely day. Which I told her when she went to bed because EVERY night she requests “Mummy please talk to me about my day!?” So we go through the day from beginning to end. Tonight obviously didn’t satisfy her as she appeared (for the first time ever) downstairs 5 minutes later! Made me jump something chronic! She apparently wanted to tell me something!? I never established what? and “Mummy I just needed to make sure you ok down here!?” Bless her, she snuggled down with the promises of chocolate brioche for breakfast….she won’t forget!!

This week!!

It’s been a blur! We’re fully back into the swing of term time life!

Monday was a lovely day at Grammie’s!! Just chilled and played which Bea loved!

Tuesday was Nursery and again she had a brilliant time, lots of painting and messiness!! And too beautiful of an afternoon not to hit the Park before collecting Charlie!!

Hot and sweaty on the spinner!!

IMG_0345.JPG

Ollie’s Birthday was Tuesday and although we didn’t get to enjoy the day with him it deserves an honourable mention!!

Wednesday was swimming with Grampie which was FAB!! Bea was brilliant with the woggle and spent most of our session swimming around without any intervention from Mummy or Grampie! Beautiful day so we did plenty of whirl-pooling outside.

To avoid confusion we said to Bea Ollie Birthday was Wednesday so we collected his “surprise” in the form of Max from Forest and went on to get the boys for an afternoon of presents, outside antics, lots of nosh and a LOT of chocolate cake!!! Poor Max was ready to change his name by the time he left….Bea must have said it 100 times! She’s feeling a little deprived of big boy attention now that we don’t see all Ollie’s friends at Nuthurst daily!

This morning we had a very exciting appointment booked with Sophie at the….hairdressers! First ever haircut (just couldn’t bring ourselves to lop off what had taken so long to grow but needs must!!) She LOVED her very special big girls appointment and sat so still Sophie kept asking if she was ok!!

IMG_0348.JPG

IMG_0346.JPG

As we were in Southwater and the weather was SO amazing we went onto the Park and had a ball!!

We did all the usuals but very much favouring the “wizz-wire” as she calls it 🙂

IMG_0351.JPG

IMG_0349.JPG

Super sliding!

IMG_0354.JPG

On the monkey rope swings….”We’re up SO HIGH!! How we gonna get down here!?!?!” She had a point….getting down proved a little exciting!?

IMG_0350.JPG

Very agile on the climbing bars

Desperately wanting to cuddle the swan on the walk back!?

Lovely day indeed!!

The weekend arrived!

After another long week the weekend came. We three took ourselves to Bignor Roman Villas Heritage Open Day. Much smaller than either Daddy and I remember but lovely all the same. Bea lapped it all up and much fun was had with Daddy “stone jumping”. After some very animated instruction from Daddy Bea became very bold and was propelling herself off each one in the end!! Some cool snaps with Daddy’s funky phone app.

Lunchtime silliness!

Sunday: Daddy and Charlie headed for the airfield early leaving us gals to fend for ourselves. Bea said Park….so Park it was. We spent over an hour playing, she was so cool and did the lot. She loves talking to other children and is fascinated by those slightly older than her. She slid, swung, climbed, seesawed, spun and zip wired!!

IMG_0340.JPG

IMG_0339.JPG

Mummy’s friend Bex was in a team event for OMF this afternoon it turned out so after we’d had lunch we sat in the sun and watched Bea…..doing some….”moves”. Much fun!

IMG_0341.JPG

Everything is back on!!
avatar

We began our week with a little “top-up” shop with Grammie as we needed a few more winter goodies!! Bea just loving the accessories section….

IMG_0333.JPG

Tuesday was Nursery. Wednesday we went over to Crawley for a swim as our Horsham pool is closing for the winter so we’re testing out other venues! Despite the slide and main water feature apparently not in operation until 4pm each day (I have enquired….) Bea had a great time and is getting on SO well with the woggle and can swim the width of the teaching pool with just that as an aide.

On Thursday we had a brilliant time at Busy Builders and she made a lovely folder for all her future creations! She tackled the soft play very boldly – she was lovely to watch!!

Friday was Music and she just LOVES it!! Debbie is so brilliant and Bea really gravitates her!! Some very blurred snaps but she rarely stands still for this 90 minutes!!!

IMG_0338.JPG

IMG_0337.JPG

It was such a lovely afternoon/early evening Friday we hit the Park on the way to a late school pick up. She has always loved it here and again now tackles it all with ease!

First week back at school and a weekend of nice stuff!
avatar

Nothing much has re started for Bea and I but we filled the week with a fab shop and lunch out with Grammie Monday, a very good day at Nursery, Wednesday was the last day of the holidays so the three of them spent the day just being the three of them, and Thursday was back to school which seemed to come all too soon!!! But happy boys and a very excited Ollie set off Thursday morning and Bea and I went and purchased half of Sainsbury’s! On Friday we headed to Holmbush Barn and soft play with Anna, Isla, Lily, Cindy, Bea and Zara for a very fun morning!!

Bea enjoying her huge bacon roll…..sod those “lunchboxes” it really is all about the BACON for this gal!!!!

IMG_0324.JPG

Saturday we had a lovely time at Horsham food festival and just generally being together and at home after a VERY long week for Daddy!!

Today Daddy and Ollie went shooting, Charlie is tackling the h/w he already accumulated from only 2 days back at school and Bea and I went to Southwater to cheer on Anna and Lora in their Triathlon!! We do love to cheer!! Enjoying the buzz of the morning!

IMG_0316.JPG

Playing with Isla whilst waiting for Lora to Finish her run!

IMG_0320.JPG

IMG_0317.JPG

This afternoon we’ve played hunt the Fairy Princesses in the garden….and then some good old footie action!!!

IMG_0322.JPG

IMG_0319.JPG

IMG_0321.JPG

Bea’s rule: if loosing, pick it up and RUN!!!

IMG_0323.JPG

And then Daddy brought the net out….serious competition has begun….

Counts to ten
avatar

Whilst Bea has been able to count to ten for some time, and has been exploring counting to twenty (not very well so far!) as well as counting backwards/down (which is punctuated with a, “BLAST OFF!”!), I’d not seen her punching a keyboard whilst counting, so thought this little video was cool.

Few more snaps from Northumberland

Few more photos from our trip to the north:

Bea loves bouncey castles. This one was a monster. She took to climbing up it really slowly (including holding up some of the bigger kids), and then after nearly getting shot off the end of the slide, she realised feet first on her tummy was the speed she was after.

image

Merry go round for little ones. Immi and Bea got in the taxi together, whilst Arch rode Thomas the tank engine.

image

After Morwick dairy, we went for a ramble around Warkworth and its really cool castle ruins. Shown below in the wrong chronological order, but you get the drift that the kids loved it’s classic keep design.
