Our week this week….

Daddy’s Birthday kicked off the week!! As Daddy said in the last blog we had our Cinema trip last Saturday – so cool and Bea was brilliant and loved it!! Grammie and Grampie came back for lunch and then they took Bea home for a sleepover so Mummy and Daddy could go for a grown-ups Birthday celebration night out…aka…dinner, WAY too much booze, taxi and a lie in (well we stayed in Bed until 9am). Bea had a fab sleepover if a little naughty….of course Grammie does not describe it as such but just that “she wasn’t tired after 10pm”….so she was in and out of her bed and into Grammies for the next 3hrs….Mummy says naughty!!!! Never has she pulled that number and not tried to since….naughty!!

So Monday was Daddy’s birthday, he celebrated with a 5am start off to London 🙁 But Bea and I spent the day baking, decorating the house and collecting balloons!!

The cake making….first were the eggs…she was very good at it and very careful….no crunch was found in our chocolate fudge cake….

Very pleased with herself post whisking!!

The “tidying up”

IMG_0417.JPG

The precision icing application….we took this very seriously!!

IMG_0416.JPG

And the decorating…Smarties have the answer!!!

IMG_0419.JPG

Given the early start we expected Daddy home early BUT alas after 7pm it was and post bath a very very excited Bea awaited her Daddy’s arrival home….

Christening of THE Cake which lasted until Thursday night as the children’s pudding option….WINNER!!!

Big TV (aka the CINEMA!!!)

Grammie and Grampy came with Mummy and Daddy to Bea’s first outing to the cinema!

She had a little booster seat, mummy brought some mini marshmallows, and Bea asked all sorts of questions about the film (as in she was paying attention!)

For those interested it was the Postman Pat movie, luckily only 88mins long. 🙂

Bea sat on Grammie’s lap for lots of it.

Whilst grainy (no flash ) you can see how much fun she was having in these two photos.

Our trip on the train!
avatar

So we fancied something a bit different today and we always talk about buses, trains, planes etc. but rarely use public transport. So today we took a train to Amberley from Christ Hospital (the Abbotts local train station which holds many a fond memory for Mummy), it was a nice 20 minute journey each way with pretty scenery at each end and relatively inexpensive.

So we got our tickets and waited for our train with great anticipation!!

IMG_0403.JPG

Having our packed lunch on the train and watching “the really fast fields!”

IMG_0405.JPG

Getting increasingly soggier as we walked to the river….

IMG_0406.JPG

We got DRENCHED!!!! We took refuge in the lovely warm pub and had hot chocolates….through a straw….and more chocolate!

IMG_0407.JPG

IMG_0408.JPG

The sun did eventually appear (for 5 minutes) while we watched the very high river!!

IMG_0410.JPG

She was lovely all day (she’s been somewhat difficult recently), loved it all and had so many questions as always. She received TWO lollies from two different bar tenders at the pub because she “is such a well behave little girl!!” I’m not convinced she was meant to be in the bar but they weren’t about to turn away a smiley little girl dripping from head to toe (a reminder that a change of clothes is still a must…..wish i’d packed me some too!)

Waiting for our rtn train enjoying her lolly!

IMG_0409.JPG

We got a train with a class full of yr 5 children returning form a school trip, she was mesmerised by them all but she’s not mastered the art of subtle people watching….”Mummy why’s that boy being naughty?” “Why’s that girl not sitting on her seat?” “Mummy why’s that lady getting cross?”

IMG_0411.JPG

She loved walking up over the railway bridge to get to the other platform at Amberely and then thought walking UNDERNEATH the railway was very interesting. I’m not sure she completely understood but she listened to what I said intently.

IMG_0412.JPG

And that was the end if our journey.

Today

Grammie Day is often not photographed, often because Grammie doesn’t much like the camera BUT sometimes Mummy ignores her Mummy. This image pretty much sums up Bea and Grammie on Mondays…..cuddles!!

Party dragon
avatar

Party at the Lewis’ and we decided to see how Bea performed left to her own devices.

With no afternoon snooze we expected her to flake.

Aside from a dip about 2200hrs where she stated she was tired and wanted to sleep, which never materialised, she was still going at 0030hrs!

Jodie came back from her own party in her rather snappy(!) dragon onesie and below we see Bea dressed up in it!

Party on!

Oh, and note she woke up before 0900hrs, despite going to bed nearly six hours later than normal! #yawn.

Update at 1500hrs Sunday: she flaked!

Nanny and Grandpa on Grammie day!
avatar

So we trundled off to Shepperton on Monday for a LOVELY day with Grammie, Nanny and Grandpa!! Bea was soooo excited, almost as much as her Great Grandparents!!

We rocked up nice and early and Bea made herself right at home and took Nanny’s hand within minutes and said she needed a wee! She then had a brilliant time upstairs raiding Nanny’s cuddly toy collection, needless to say we came home with Minnie Mouse!!! They bought her an Animal Mini Golf set which they played for AGES!!!! Grandpa bought her a shower cap from the chemist because he thought she might like it…..which she did!!

She’s in stitches with Grandpa looking at her silly self in the mirror!!

IMG_0399.JPG

She couldn’t get enough of it….

IMG_0397.JPG

We had fabulous slap up lunch courtesy of Grammie, Bea wolfed her quiche down and ate her body weight in bread and butter and THEN ate half a tub of ice cream Nanny had bought her!!

It was so lovely to see them together, Bea doesn’t see them very often but she was brilliant and just loved all their loving!!!!

Motorbike shopping with Daddy
avatar

Sunday morning and Daddy fancied a trip to a bike shop for a mooch about.

Interestingly I asked Bea if she would like to go and do something “cool” and she asked if we could look at motorbikes and helmets!

She made a dash for the lids and of course wanted to try one on.
She loved the open faced one and loved shutting the visor, so we had a go with a full faced lid that had a big sticker across the visor (which obscured your view) and she was very happy in that too!

Washbrooks Farm Friday!
avatar

Busy week involving the usuals: lovely Grammie day Monday, Nursery Tuesday, Music Wednesday, Busy Builders/Messy Play Thursday (and perpetual taxi service for big brothers!) and today we had a day out with friends!!

Great day at Washbrooks Farm! First to arrive, that school run does have its perks getting us (all 4 of us) out the door at 8am…..even if Bea often kips until 7:30!!! So either it’s breakie afterwards or Jammies in the car!

First we said good morning to the animals in the (very funky!) barn!

IMG_0380.JPG

Then the trampolines!

IMG_0381.JPG

Then the pillows!

IMG_0382.JPG

Then the “wizz-wire” – she spotted it not me!! I took a gamble and let her go solo…..it did have a large “DONK” at the end but she gripped good and remained on board….again and again and AGAIN!!!! Bea inspired Anna and Laura (with Zac and Max) to let their two go it alone….only a few casualties!?

IMG_0387.JPG

Lots of climbing, tunnel sliding, swinging, Bea liked the Monkey swing….”I can lie down on here? I’m a bit tired, I gonna go to sleep….for two minutes!!” (we do a lot of things for/in/after two minutes!?)

IMG_0396.JPG

Tractor riding around the farm with Cindy, Bea and Zara!

IMG_0391.JPG

More trampolining!!

IMG_0390.JPG

IMG_0388.JPG

Lunchtime madness! A table in a very busy Tea Room with 4 Mummy’s, 4 2.5yr olds and 3 weaning/new babes!! Good loud fun! Again we said sod the “lunch box” and this time Bea plumped for a sausage sandwich….man size!!! Devoured….

IMG_0395.JPG

Some tractor action with Isla!

IMG_0394.JPG

IMG_0392.JPG

IMG_0393.JPG

And finally for some sand sculpting in the Wendy House! (I managed to keep her away from the damn stuff until the end! Mummy is not a fan!!).

IMG_0384.JPG

Bea was brilliant company all day!! Always a very proud Mummy out with my girl.
