The Christmas run down…..

began at Grammie’s on Monday!

Nanny and Grandpa came for their early Christmas with us and a very lovely day we all had!!

Ever the little “helper”…..

Grampie came home for a quick hello….and a biscuit….and a cuddle!! What a pair!!

IMG_0571.JPG

….and more cuddles!

IMG_0568.JPG

Tuesday was Nursey where again Bea shared the morning between Bumble Bees and Giraffe room for the New Year transition! Then off to the Garden centre for a tree stand and Arek’s Christmas present. During which time we saw the animals in the Pet Shop and Bea’s request altered from a Cat for Christmas to a Bunny….she has neither!!

Wednesday “Ollie-Pops” was poorly so we all spent the day at home and actually had a very nice day with the added bonus of a much better feeling big brother at the end if it!!

On Thursday Bea had her Carol singing at Nursey which she did beautifully and enjoyed with her “bestie” Ami πŸ™‚

IMG_0572.JPG

Off to town and Sainsbury’s and then after school run and speedy tea we all headed off for some St. Andrew’s nostalgia (by request if the boys) and enjoyed the Christmas Fair! Firstly Bea won a Milkyway, then her and Ollie elaborately decorated, sparing no sparkle a gingerbread man which was dutifully devoured! Then onto the arts & crafts table for some very intense decoration design….she does it with FLARE!!!

Ta-Da!!

IMG_0575.JPG

Then more chocolate in the form of a mega muffin…topped with chocolate snowmen, and THEN she won a lolly….and by some miracle wasn’t sick! Phew!

To Auntie Katie’s!!!!!!

SO much fun and I love seeing the children together!! Northumberland brought Winter into perspective….it was FREEZING!!! We had a fab day at home Saturday….playing, eating, walking, eating (we do LOVE Auntie Katie’s food!), playing….and a very important piece of art and craft work for Nanny & Grandpa….the completed framed piece!

IMG_0549.JPG

Sunday was the amazing Beamish! A spectacular Victorian Working Village!! The children LOVED it, as did we! Although we (adults) complained and winced all day about the weather/temperature, the children didn’t mention it once!!

IMG_0543.JPG

IMG_0546.JPG

Amazing Fish and Chips for lunch….in traditional beef dripping!! I like to think we shivered it off afterwards!?

IMG_0555.JPG

And finally after a 1.5hr queue (all be it very well designed with children entertainment throughout and they genuinely didn’t complain ONCE!!) we saw Father Christmas….MAGIC!!!!

IMG_0554.JPG

After a lovely day at home Monday we collected Ims after school and went for Afternoon Tea on a mammoth scale “Ginger Fox stylie”. And then back for a bath and LONG trek home πŸ™ Bea’s still missing her cousins and Auntie Katie….even Uncle Jo is enquired about each day! Until the next time!

BIG catch up….in brief!

Wednesday was swimming with Grampie!

As always lots of fun and splashing!!

IMG_0509.JPG

Thursday was “Baby Lily’s” Birthday Party! Bea was very excited…..she does love a Birthday shin-dig!! Although initially when I told her we were going to Lily’s 1st Birthday Party she responded with: “No Mummy I can’t go, cos Lily’s a little baby and I’m a big girl!” I explained that Lily had invited some of her little friends AND her big friends! She was satisfied with this!
She wanted to wear a dress and thankfully we had an Imi hand-me-down because Mummy realised she’s not bought her a winter frock….we may need to rectify this!?

A little back track….

Last weekend we went along to the lovely Petworth Christmas Fair! Lovely pretty things and lovely scrummy food! Bea was in her element sampling all the cake, cookies, fudge, meringues, chocolate, cheese, jams….and still she scoffed a huge bacon bap!

Catching a ride on Daddy

IMG_0506.JPG

Eagerly watching the Musical Procession!

IMG_0507.JPG

….and rather ambitiously climbing a jumbo tree!

IMG_0508.JPG

She was a lovely, happy, polite, and chatted to everyone. Happy Mummy and Daddy.

No brushes, so “hand” painting…
avatar

Whilst we did eventually find a tiny brush, before that was found “we” concluded that painting with our hands was an entirely acceptable alternative.

Luckily before Mummy returned home, we were able to clear up most of the mess….  NOT!

We had successfully cleared up the blue/green/yellow footprints around the kitchen, the yellow hand prints around the sink, the great big dollops of paint on the doormat and,  well,  everywhere.
I had also managed to straight lift Bea into the shower without touching anything on the way,  derobed in there and managed to only get one tiny paint splash on the bath mat! Doh!
The shower was able to remove the green and blue from her hands,  arms and face, plus the yellow from her pony tail. How paint got round the back of her head remains unclear.
Of course once that was done we had to clean the green hand prints on the three walls and glass door of the shower…

Anyway. Mummy came home and saved the day,  threw her paint soaked socks in the bin as they were properly broken and got her some clean fresh clothes (she had yellow paint on her knickers but not on her leggings…?).

This week!

So Mummy working Monday and Tuesday morning so super Grammie had her lady ship Monday and Tuesday was Nursery. She often protests on a Tuesday morning and there’s always that “I want a cuddle” as we get out of the car and sometimes a little protestation once there but she always has a lovely time. I know I was the same….always had a good enough time at school BUT would have always chosen a day with my Mummy πŸ™‚ When I got there….Bea was not!! She’d MOVED up a room, she had been a “Giraffe” for the day. She’s due to move in January but given she only goes one morning a week they’ve started the process now. Bea was apparently very happy, adapted well and they had a brilliant time doing arts and crafts!

Wednesday we hit the Library and re-stocked! Then hit town and Bea devoured her current favoured: a warm bacon and cheese croissant from Pret! We got home for an afternoon with Isla. The girls were fab and happily played for hours! I was SO well attended to….I had my hair done, make up done, I was bejewelled, medicated and had my heart rate monitored regularly….ALL at the same time!

IMG_0494.JPG

Colouring….who’d have thought such concentration and satisfaction could be had with pencils and paper!?

IMG_0492.JPG

Mine and Bea’s train trip day a few weeks ago proved popular so we did it again with Anna, Isla, Lily, Lora, Charlie and Arthur! We set off to Ford with a packed lunch!

IMG_0495.JPG

IMG_0498.JPG

IMG_0496.JPG

IMG_0497.JPG

At Ford there was a Railway Modelling and Scalextric Workshop. They loved it! There was a model mountain scene in which the train appeared and disappeared into the mountain side. You pushed a button to set it off which off course probed very popular with three 2.5yr olds!!!

Bea and Charlie watching…Bea actually squealed each time it appeared! Hysterical πŸ™‚

IMG_0500.JPG

Inside there was another even more elaborate scene which Bea JUST loved! There were about 5 trains running and so much detail in the Model, she could have stayed all day watching and pointing out everything! Very cool!

IMG_0499.JPG

A lovely dog walk followed on a very autumnal afternoon.

IMG_0502.JPG

IMG_0501.JPG

This morning was Music, then Sainsburys and then some play dough. Bea’s been very into aliens and space and planets since Nursey’s craft theme Tuesday and one of our Library purchases: “Aliens Love Underpants”. After much “cake making” she created (using an old cereal box) “Space with all the planets for the Aliens” πŸ™‚

Been a bit pants with the blogging!

In brief some back dating….

Last week Arek turned 8 years old! He was sung to (about 20 times!) and awarded a bonio!!

IMG_0490.JPG

Last weekend Daddy was hard at it Saturday so me and Bea hit the woods and debuted her new wellingtons!

Stick throwing in the stream!!

IMG_0481.JPG

Mandatory hide-and-seek!!

IMG_0482.JPG

IMG_0484.JPG

Loves a tree stump!!

IMG_0491.JPG

This weeks been all the usuals and Thursday we met best friend Ami for lunch in Wagamamas! We’ve not taken her there to eat before and she loved it (as did Mummy, we used to go quite a bit pre-Bea). She had chicken and “wormy noodles” and rather liked the “magic beans” aka edame beans πŸ™‚ Being checking after nosh!!

IMG_0487.JPG

IMG_0488.JPG

Today….3 going on 13!!!! Telling me ALL about….just about everything….as always!!!

IMG_0480.JPG

Tomorrow cousins Imi and Arch arrive…OH the insane excitement, I’m stunned she actually went to sleep!! Roll on tomorrow!!!

Chilly Park morning!
avatar

It’s been a relatively typical week but all good. Fab swim with Grampie on Wednesday, she’s SO good with the woggle she barely needs us! She loved climbing out of the pool and then hurling herself back in, happy enough for just the woggle to catch her. In the past she’s always insisted either Mummy or Grampie hold the woggle steady. We really were surplus to requirements!!

This morning was beautiful so we skipped Messy Play and went to Horsham Park and had a bucket load of fun!!!

IMG_0477.JPG

IMG_0475.JPG

IMG_0476.JPG

IMG_0474.JPG

She then went on to charm all the OAP’s in Sainsbury’s!

Currently having sticker fun in what has become a rather gloomy afternoon!

IMG_0478.JPG

Bea’s concentration face….lips!?
