Round 2…..Grammie and Grampie!!!
avatar

Grammie and Grampie came for an afternoon of MORE present opening and Bea’s favourite……BACON SARNIE lunch!!!

A FAB day had by all!!!!

We also celebrated with Grandma and Grandad the following weekend….so technically strung the Birthday celebrations out for TWO weeks! We went to a lovely cafe where Bea opened her PADDLING POOL ๐Ÿ™‚ ROLL ON THE SUMMER!!!!!!

Aaaaaaand we’re back!!

SO going back to The Birthday weekend…..only over a month ago now!?

The day itself! Not bad for a girl who was technically having an IOU in the summer (current thinking is a bouncy castle.

The opening!

…..with a little help from “my boys!”

First chocolate cereal…..there’s been no looking back……ONLY at weekends!!?

Birthdays: then and now
avatar

Whilst Bea’s birthday isn’t until tomorrow we went for a slap up dinner at the local Smith &ย  Western restaurant.

We have of course been here many many times before,ย  but remembered that for Charlie’s 3rd birthday we also went to the Smith & Western to celebrate his birthday almost 12years ago!

Here are a couple of images of Charlie who was utterly overwhelmed by the “Belly Buster” dessert!

Moving forward more than a decade and we find a similarly sized little girl who is surrounded by her siblings and takes full confident advantage of her older brothers when faced with the same experience:

Such was her confidence she periodically took off her cowgirl hat for a yell of,ย  “yeee-haaa!!”:

Mummy even got stuck in and donned the cowgirl look for a few moments until Bea wanted her hat back:

All in all a cracking dinner out. We came home with the hat, some lollies and a couple of helium balloons all ready for tomorrow’s milestone.

1st Day of Birthday Celebrations down…..

Today was PARTY DAY!!! By request – Mummy hadn’t anticipated “putting on a Party” this year….but Bea said “I’d like a Party for my BIG girls Birthday with my friends!!”….so really, why not!? Lots of chats with Auntie Katie and planning….

So 3 years old, Bea the eldest by 4 months in a few cases so I didn’t want to get too carried away but we easily filled almost 4hrs with playing, eating, games and dancing!! When they’re dinky you tend to spend your days “luncheoning” at one another’s houses in the hope they might kip whilst you eat a meal chatting to your friends (about them) without them attached to your boob (feels like a distant memory!!) or pacing up and down a kitchen and rocking a restless babe! But as they get older it becomes more about the “activities” and of course children’s preferences differ and consequently “chatty Mummy days” become much less frequent. We do all tend to go to Music on a Friday which is lovely and today us Brooker gals got “our Party started” and Lora, Cindy, Anna, and Candice rocked up after Musical Friends. The children happily entertained themselves whilst we all had a cuppa and a novel catch up, then nosh filled a few hours – all Bea’s favourites….hot sausages, baked pots, ham and cheese squishy rolls, crisps, grapes, CHOCOLATE Birthday Cake with marshmallows, chocolate fingers, flapjacks and rocky road clusters ๐Ÿ™‚

We went for pass-the-parcel and they were very good. I couldn’t remember how it actually worked so we did 2 rounds and they got a prize each time with POM-POMS for each of them at the end for a BOOGIE session courtesy of Ollie’s very carefully composed….. “Bea’s Party Play List”. Bea absolutely loved it and I loved watching them all celebrating her Birthday!!

Never easy to capture these things but a few pics from today….

Tomorrow is Smith & Weston family Birthday Dinner….

Worse blog delay to date….!?

It’s been so long I will have to keep it brief…..purely because I have an appalling memory!!

Christmas was wonderful and New Year was a bit tarred for me! I got got by two viral thingamajigs so 2015 had rather a sluggish start BUT normality resumed and we’re one month down already!?!?

Bea’s been on very good form, extremely into arts & crafts, Music (we are as of January on the Frozen band wagon!!) and talking NON-stop!! Our weekly activities haven’t altered much but Bea now goes solo on a Wednesday for her “big girls swimming lesson” – a very proud (and naughty – pics not permitted!!) Mummy watching from the side ๐Ÿ™‚

Bea is officially in Giraffes at Nursery and despite not always being uber up for it always has a brilliant time! As of the end of February she will be going two mornings a week….

We polished off Music a few Friday’s ago at Wagamamas EN-MASS….Bea’s suggestion! First time for the others but a huge hit!! Bea’s got rather proficient with the chop sticks!

Some silly snaps of some girlie days

We are currently suffering THE POX!! We are now day 5 and despite looking like she’s been got by a BB gun she’s doing very well. Lots on her tummy and back but only a few on her face. She was a bit uncomfortable overnight for the first few days but “my annoying cock-a-doodle-do spots” are going mostly unnoticed during the day. Daddy’s been suffering from a nasty cold so we gave him an hours peace yesterday and ventured off to the Village Park for some fresh air (not the hive of activity….especially in January)….the “poorly girl”

After her hours hooly she did sleep for over an hour!

In a few days Bea turns 3….yikes!! Hopefully we’ll be scabbed over by Friday for Party day, Smith & Weston Cowgirls dinner Saturday and THE BIG DAY Sunday…..mostly filled with presents and cake!!!! She can’t WAIT!!

Twist and go
avatar

Came into front room to find Bea with a bottle of water.
I was fascinated that she picked it up, twisted the top off, took a big swig (she likes her water!), and safely screwed the cap back on!
I’ve seen teenagers not able to do this so efficiently.. ahem!!

Picture of Daddy

Firstly happy new year!
Bea is now only a few weeks away from her third birthday.

Mummy and Charlie are both unwell, so whilst Ollie and Daddy were the last into bed having walked back from a new years eve party at well past 2am, it was Daddy that was up first nursing a hangover when I heard Bea singing a song in her bed. Clearly awake.
To avoid those that needed sleep we trotted off downstairs to feed Arek and make some porridge for breakfast.

During her brekkie Bea pointed out that she had wiped clean the chalk board so it was a blank canvas. With parental skills waning due to self-inflicted-headache, Bea received no challenge to the request to create a chalk drawing mid-breakfast. Doh!

She proudly announced that she had drawn a picture of me. It was at this point just an image of a rough circle. I asked where my legs were and she drew some on, she then drew a nose. I asked where my eyes were and she drew two eyes including stating,  “that one isn’t an eye“, rubbed it out and made it look like an eye (apparently self-critical of her own artistic abilities!).
I asked where my mouth, arms, hair, hands and finally where my shoes were – all dutifully added.

Others may think this is normal, so sorry to you; I was impressed that whilst she is still just two years old she knew where and how to draw an image of a person with no prompting necessary for the location of aforementioned body parts!

Bea Xmas 2014 – grand present opening!
avatar

Whilst we have taken lots and lots of photos, the video of Bea opening her gorgeous pink Ridgeback 12″ bicycle was lovely, so have uploaded for all to share.
She loved unwrapping it with squeals of delight, followed by a wonderful moment where she almost tried to cuddle it.
Of course she remembered immediately that Mummy also has a pink bicycle; I wonder if Mummy will feel compelled to get out there and turn some pedals now… ๐Ÿ™‚

Tulley’s Farm Santa Fun!
avatar

We thought some more Christmas themed fun was needed so took ourselves to Tulley’s for their Christmas Event! It was a lovely day and Anna, Isla and Lily came too which made it all the more fun!

We searched and found all 20 Elves and got our sticker book prize, discovered our Inner Elf….Bea is a “Cuddly Elf”, we wrote a Letter to Father Christmas and posted it in The Christmas Post Office and we might receive a little note from Father Christmas in the morning (Mummy’s were handed these to pass on :)). We watched the Christmas Panto and Bea dutifully joined in!

IMG_0563.JPG

A spot of Tractor and Digger action was of course undertaken!

IMG_0566.JPG

IMG_0567.JPG

And to Father Christmas!! Very well organised as we booked our time slots in advance so no queuing or waiting in the cold! We took our Sleigh ride (decorated Tractor) into the Woods where we found a very sweet log Cabin and inside a sleeping Father Christmas….we had to wake him up!! He told us a few stories and then we received our gifts!

Then it was off for lunch in the lovely warm Cafe! Bacon sarnie requested and devoured…..as was the chocolate cake…all off it!! She was beautifully behaved all day and a pleasure to be with, she deserved her cake!
