Began early with Daddy and Charlie setting off for the Flight Training Exhibition in Heathrow at 7:30am. We had a lovely lazy morning at home (Ollie and Bea did anyway!) and once the sun came out we hit the Park for some football….

And to finish hide and seek….I was told (with pointed finger!!) to “turn around and count to 10 and I will hide behind this tree” πŸ™‚

After a much needed lunch by two very hungry Brookers we popped to see Grampie at work for a beer steal!!

Bea needed to help Grampie with his work….

IMG_0473.JPG

They wrote “Bea” into Grampie’s spreadsheet and she then informed him her big name: Beatrice Rose (for a while she would say “Roses” rather than “Rose” I was a bit sad today when she said it correctly) Brooker. So they wrote her big name, Grampie guided her as to which keys to press and she did it with vigor….!! Extremely proud of her work πŸ™‚

Town followed, them home to see Daddy and Charlie, lots of fun and silliness, big dinner (eating for a horse a the moment!), cooking and nann making with Daddy before a much needed bedtime. Lovely day.

Sparklers!!
avatar

There was an option to go for some more fireworks this weekend, but chose not to go to another commercial one; preferring our own company in the back garden instead.
Mummy bought a fistful of sparklers and we all had a little go.

After a careful word about how to hold the sparklers we instructed the kids to wave them about and I set about trying to hold a long exposure on the camera.
The “spooky” images are where I played with the flash – would like the final-curtain-flash option, but not available on this camera. πŸ˜‰
We can also see Mummy “photobombing” – with that tongue I might even suggest she was “lolly-gagging”!! πŸ™‚

Half term week!
avatar

Monday was Grandpa’s Birthday (well Tuesday but we celebrated a day early on Grammie’s day off). Such a lovely day, Bea adores their undivided attention!! Very rubbish Mummy and no pics but Bea was “Miss helpful” at present time and candle-blowing-out time!! I love watching them together, they were such a special part of my childhood and I feel so incredibly lucky that Bea can enjoy them now.

Tuesday was Nursery and for the first time they said she was quite emotional and she did look very teary on collection. We had a play date at Ami’s house afterwards which was great and Bea also got to enjoy William’s company (as it was half term…she does love the boys!). A few errands to run afterwards and Bea was GONE for an hour in the car. The weekend shattered her: late night fireworks Sat and then a lost hour Sunday with no “recoup nap”. She went on to sleep for nearly 12hrs that night!!!

Wed the boys came home and Charlie was off again at the crack of crow fart to go gliding, so me, Bea and Ollie went swimming which was pool-pandemonium as half term but she LOVED having her brother there and did lots of showing off!! After lunch we went to the Craft Den and did some very funky Decopatch, the boys may have had even more fun than Bea!!

IMG_0449.JPG

Daddy very stuck in Chester this week to which Bea kept saying: ” we need to get a daddy OUT of there!!” Bit of Skype action….

IMG_0453.JPG

And then the last of Grandpa’s cake….

IMG_0450.JPG

Thursday was a jobs day….walking the dog, Sainsbury’s, cleaning, washing, ironing….with a very helpful big brother on hand to entertain Bea!! AND Daddy home, even if it was at 9pm! I promised Bea that in the morning she would find someone in Mummy’s bed….DADDY!!! And she did πŸ™‚

Extremely happy to see her Daddy this morning after 3 days! Their conversation in the bathroom was very funny….”Daddy do you like my beautiful face, it’s all clean!!??”

And then off to see Grandma and Grandad for brunch at Cote and a catch up!!

Looking very grown up waiting for her food….

IMG_0452.JPG

Devouring the biggest croque monsieur you’ve here seen….her favourite! She was so good, makes us proud!

IMG_0455.JPG

We headed back to Grandma and Grandad’s for some computer fixing (Daddy’s department!) and plenty of spoiling!!! A lovely day all together!

14, 12 & 2.5yrs old….sometimes an afternoon nap is necessary no matter how old you are!

IMG_0456.JPG

Some Saturday night entertainment was had…over to Daddy!

Sunday = long day…!?

Well very late night Sat with Fireworks and Bea only slept until 6:30am “real time” …..7:30am “our time”. BUT she was a trooper and made it to bed time! A very relaxed morning, an early lunch and then Bea voted for “the new Park!”….

IMG_0445.JPG

A very funny afternoon, she was in a very entertaining mood! “I’m making Daddy look so silly!!” She strongly associates being “silly” with being funny! I told her off the other day for being silly after her bath but she TOLD me “Mummy NO! I need to be silly because it’s funny!!!!”!? This was funny though….

Fireworks continued….
avatar

SO excited was she all week about seeing the fireworks with Grammie and Grampie!! The jibber- jabber on the way there was hysterical! To listen to someone who wants to talks about something they’ve never actually experienced is so funny!!! As Daddy said, much pre-firework fun was had and OMG no sparklers anymore….made Mummy feel so old πŸ™ Anyway, she LOVED her sparkly star!!!

IMG_0443.JPG

A very tired babe when we got home. Quick toothbrush, (no bath….2nd time in 2.5yrs!), jammies on and The Tiger Who Came To Tea….aaaaaaaand sleep!

Bea’s first fireworks night!

Grampie kindly supplied us all with tickets to the local cricket club’s annual firework display, so given she has demonstrated an ability to stay up late we’ve been preparing her for the “big bangs” and the “ooohs & ahhh” that come at a firework display!

They had a lovely little fair there so we had a go on the merry-go-round, the bouncy castles (where she of course chose the largest most scary of the three on offer and chucked herself off the top surrounded by bigger kids!), some pick-n-mix sweeties, a flashing star topped wand and a little car roundabout ride.

We stood and listened to the thumping DJ hammer out some tunes. This made Bea want to dance and boogie with Grammie whilst we waited for the main event.

As it started we were in a portaloo squeezing out a final wee before it got underway! Doh!

We were surrounded by some bigger children crying at the bangs of the display, but dutifully our little Bea was ready for the bangs, nay demanded more bangs!

She never stopped talking throughout, and had a chat with each of us, all while the banging was going on.

Photos below are on the horse of the merry-go-round, Grampie’s shoulders mid display, and snuggling and grinning with Mummy. Two more gorgeous girls could not be found…

Friday!
avatar

Nursery were very nice and let Bea come in today as she missed Tuesday, which was brilliant because her bestest friend Ameli now goes on different days to Bea….and goes on a Friday. She was mega excited about seeing Ami but somewhat bewildered when we arrived to different teachers and children and no Ami as yet…..:( As I was about to pull my phone out and call to check she was alright I had a text from Ami’s Mummy saying they had a very big cuddle and went off to play together immediately. When I collected her, they had not left one another’s side! Many tea parties were had this morning apparently!!

This afternoon’s been spent making play dough cakes with great concentration and determination…

…an hour later…

And then Fig picking in the garden!

And washin’ them up!!!

IMG_0438.JPG

A lovely quite chilled afternoon!

On the mend….

Bea’s eating well and seems fine in herself so we popped to Music this morning which as ever she loved!!

Waiting for her biscuit and juice!

IMG_0430.JPG

It was a lovely Autumnal day and this venue has a Park next door!! She LOVED it!!

IMG_0432.JPG

IMG_0433.JPG

IMG_0431.JPG

We went home for lunch and then popped along for her Fluenz appt. We’d had a chat and watched the video and Bea was looking forward to “having my tickly nose spray!” πŸ™‚ And despite the previous little girl coming out balling (Mummy said she was seeing the Nurse for something else….!?) she was a star!! We were in and out within minutes!!

So we went and got a little present for being so well behaved for the Nurse….The Gruffalo’s Child has now Been added to the snuggly collection!!!

IMG_0435.JPG

(Apparently) a sick day!?
avatar

After a lovely day at Grammie’s yesterday and a nice play in the park before collecting Charlie, Bea got very tired and wasn’t quite herself and point blank refused dinner….no bribery would work!! She promptly up-chucked BIG style just before bed. We did so well and got 2 rounds perfectly down the toilet but she was in denial about the 3rd and projectiled across the bathroom!! SO no Nursery today despite having a good night and being happy and hungry this morning. We’ve had an entire day at home, not even been in the car once!!!!! Quite lovely and she’s been a very busy home bunny!! We’ve painted, tackled some tricky puzzles, watched the Gruffalo (she prefers the Gruffalo’s Child at Grammie’s), done some phonetics on the ipad and for the past 1hr 45minutes we’ve been making birthday cakes with play dough!! She has sung Happy Birthday to everyone she knows in both versions (the classic and Daddy’s tomato remix!?) about 200 times!! I could watch her for hours….and have!

Saturday was Daddy’s Birthday present Day….

FLYBOARDING in Littlehampton! Needless to say there was much excitement about watching Daddy in the Sea and getting very wet!

Costa scrum before the event….

Daddy and Bea watching the lesson before….

IMG_0424.JPG

Stunning sunny afternoon and a much needed family day out. Lunch at The Beach Cafe! Delicious food and lovely time enjoying the peculiarly warm October weather!

IMG_0426.JPG

Bea opted for sausage (they were homemade lamb sausages!!) and chips….the sausages were huge but her “child’s portion” was TWO sausages and a plateful of hand cut chips….Mummy let her “dip dip in the kets-chup”!!

IMG_0425.JPG

Daddy was brilliant as were the dutiful brood waiting, watching and cheering him on. Weekends often feel very disjointed these days with everyone doing different things. Today was lovely!
