Met Great Auntie Rosie and Uncle Mike
avatar

Met my parents at Compton again for a lovely tea shop brunch option. Managed to invite G.Auntie Rosie and G.Uncle Mike.

Whilst Rosie has showered Bea with gifts and has photos they’ve never met (yes,  Daddy guilt trip; sorry). As can be seen they were best buddies immediately.

Last weekends spontaneous trip to the Cotswolds!!!

Daddy came up with the brilliant idea that we should go away…..I really should let Daddy have more of these spontaneous ideas!!!! We had such a FANTASTICALLY beautiful, relaxing and lovely time in our picture perfect (Jasmine) Cottage in Windrush. We arrived at 5:30 Friday, Bea was beside herself with excitement! She had the most gorgeous room and just loved the whole notion of a “little holiday weekend”. She happily went off to sleep in her cabin bed whilst Mummy and Daddy cooked, drank, sat by the fire and generally enjoyed not being able to do all the normal jobs which need doing when at home.

Bea’s bedroom πŸ™‚

We filled Saturday with Burford and a lovely brunch in Huffkins, then went onto a fab Park with Bea! Dismal weather so we had it all to ourselves πŸ™‚

Home to the Cottage for a novel afternoon sit down before pottering off to the local Pub a mile down the road for good pub grub! On our jolly way….

Lots of name writing and “lists” being written….she likes to write lists….who knows where she got that obsession from!?

And some hand-jiving!

Very funny walk home, squiffy Mummy and Daddy, limited eye spy in the dark and an awful lot of toads in the road….!?!?

Sunday we went home via Oxford and had another day of pottering and eating. A very lovely way to spend a weekend!

The Mothers Day weekend….
avatar

so technically Mummy was duped for a motorbike BUT I shan’t hold a grudge! As is often the case I returned on the Saturday to this domestic picture….

Oh how they do LOVE to make a mess when Mummy’s walking the Arek!!!

Later that Day Daddy and Charlie were busy at the Gliders AGM so us girls decided to hit the Flicks!! Chosen film: “Home” I showed her the trailer and she laughed the whole way through….and we laughed (Mummy blubbed a bit!) all the way through the film too! Lovely afternoon!

Mothers Day began early with Daddy off at 5:30am to collect his new Motorbike from Bristol so us girls did some prep for Grammie from me and Auntie Katie. And then we went for my treat and had brunch in Cote….

…..or Bea’s treat!?

Croque Monseiur of course! Followed by the “jam tasting menu!?”

A spot of shopping…..for Charlie’s shoes that Bea very proudly carried around town

We popped to Grammies to give her her Mothers day treats and see Nanny and Grandpa which was lovely and then got home just before Daddy and his big new blue Motorbike!!

And Mummy got a very special present from her three very special people….

Some back-tracking.

going back to the subject of swimming…..Bea began to “wobble” about swimming without Mummy? Nothing to do with the water, just the realisation that I wasn’t in the pool anymore. But thanks to a truly brilliant teacher and persistence we’re back to loving it again!! So much so I she had a private lesson this week in the hols with her teacher Sally (who she loves!!!) She was brilliant and handled 30mins one-on-one without any worries!! A bit of Park action is often had afterwards!

Easter egg hunting
avatar

Local church put on an annual easter egg hunt. Rather than searching for eggs, they give the kids a sheet of clues and a pen and send them into the church grounds.

Mummy was here last year so knew to expect wet grass (wellies) and cold (coats) and thinking caps (clues hard!)!

With Ollie leading the way (and the brains) we raced in for the clues.
45mins later we had all the clues nailed – each clue giving us a single letter of the alphabet.

This left us with 12 letters to rearrange into something to do with easter.
It became apparent that one of our letters was wrong, and on reinspection we realised our “L” should have been a “T”.
Another Daddy came over. We had “BUNNY” and with some chatting plus the correct letters we realised it was “BUNNY’S BASKET”!

WooHoo! We quickly wrote on Ollie’s and Bea’s sheets and charged over to the gate and chose our prize chocolate easter egg!

Mummy and Daddy keen to get round to the school for a nice warm cuppa.

Here’s Bea writing in one of the letters:
